Evolution of an Instructional Designer

My academic journey through grad school at Penn State World Campus has been a transformative experience, moving away from traditional instruction towards the frontiers of Learning Design and Technology. This phase of my career is dedicated to understanding the intricate intersection of pedagogy and digital architecture, ensuring that future classrooms are as inclusive as they are innovative.

Navigating this landscape, I have focused on how augmented reality and AI can solve complex educational challenges. Each project in my portfolio is a milestone in this journey, representing a move from theory to high-impact application. Through this process, I have developed a design philosophy that prioritizes learner engagement and technological equity.

My Graduate Journey

Foundations at Penn State

Beginning my journey at World Campus, I focused on the intersection of instructional theory and user experience design. This foundation helped me understand how thoughtful structure, clear communication, and learner-centered choices can make digital instruction more effective.

Classroom Innovation

Transitioning to AR and 3D printing research, I explored how tactile learning can strengthen student engagement in social studies. These projects showed me how emerging technology can turn abstract ideas into active, memorable learning experiences.

Maker Education

Bridging the gap between curriculum and technology, I developed hands-on projects and educational 3D prototypes. This work allowed me to connect creative problem-solving with practical classroom needs while designing tools that encourage exploration and collaboration.

Future Milestones

As I complete my degree, I am focusing on AI-driven curriculum design and the future of online learning environments. I am especially interested in building ethical, flexible learning experiences that support both educators and students.
